With its circa 1860's Victorian Sofa, Four Dormered Windows, and Window Seats—this is the perfect place to relax. French Doors separate the Private Sitting Room from the Bedroom.
The Servants Quarters Suite is arguably one of the most beautifully furnished with its sumptuous, onately hand carved, Rosewood Full Feathered Bed with matching Chest on Chest and Night Stand, antique Armoire, and Duncan Pyfe Desk.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: In the event of a fire, this third floor suite is equipped with an emergency chain and rope ladder for alternate egress. If you or your companion would be unable to use these, please select a King Whirlpool or Queen Whirlpool room (which have a second staircase for egress.)
The Private Bath
The Private Bath has as an Imported Marble Floor, Crystal Basket, Shower, and Antique Claw Foot Tub—wonderful for lazy relaxing soaks.
The View
From this third floor retreat you will have a bird's eye view of the Scarritt Mansion, circa 1865, otherwise known as the Six Chimneys. Fully restored inside and out, the Scarritt Mansion is Classic Italian Victorian Architecture at its best. On winter days when the trees are denuded of their foliage, you will also be able to catch a distant glimpse of the Mighty Mississippi as it lazily winds its way around Alton.
