Discover The Niña and The Pinta
Bring a history lesson to life by touring (replicas of) Columbus’s ships, the Niña and the Pinta!
Friday, August 7th through Sunday, August 16th, the ships will be docked at The Loading Dock in Grafton and open daily for touring.
The Niña, built completely by hand, without the use of power tools, has been called “the most historically correct Columbus replica ever built” (Archaeology Magazine). The detailed craftsmanship make this replica a truly fascinating exploration back in time to the Age of Discovery. (Fun fact: This replica of the Niña was also used in the film 1492, staring Gerard Depardieu and directed by Ridley Scott.)
The Pinta, built in Brazil to accompany the Niña, is a larger version of the archetypal caravel.
Both ships travel together as a “sailing museum” to provide an enhanced educational experience for both children and adults.
The ships are open to the general public for walk-aboard, self-guided tours from 9 am to 6 pm daily. 30-minute guided tours for school groups or other organizations are also available. Call (787) 672-2152 to make a reservation for your group. For more information, please visit www.thenina.com.Admission: $8/adult $7/senior $6/student (5-18) Children under 4 are free.
