Mapping St. Louis History
Nov 20 @ 7:30 am – 10:30 pm

Take a walk through St. Louis history and view historic maps, rare books, and images commemorating the city’s 250th birthday.

Mercantile Library is located on the 2 lower levels of Thomas Jefferson Library (you will walk in on the 3rd floor). Exhibitions can be viewed during normal Thomas Jefferson Library hours. Enjoy the exhibition by yourself or take a free, docent-led tour Saturdays at 11 or Sundays at 2. Group tours can also be arranged. Victorian Christmas at Tower Grove House
Nov 20 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

See the exquisite Victorian country home of Garden founder Henry Shaw in all its holiday splendor!

There will also be activities for children, including storytelling at 11 on Wednesdays and Saturdays and at 1 on Sundays.

Water Cairns Exhibit

This new photography exhibit artfully highlights the St. Louis area’s close connection to rivers and streams. The images of the Watershed Cairns exhibit document important places in our regional watershed through vivid, large-scale photos of sculptural cairns made of glass. By naming and mapping sites of the photos, the exhibit offers visitors the chance to learn of the interconnection of these waters and the areas through which they pass.

Taste of Downtown

If you are a foodie this is one you won’t want to miss. Eat, drink, and have fun with the Taste of Downtown! Sample various flavors of Downtown Alton from your favorite dining and drinking establishments.

Anheuser-Busch Brewery Christmas Lights Experience
Nov 20 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Take a stroll through the towering, German-style red-brick buildings of Anheuser-Busch Brewery adorned with thousands of lights every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday November 20th through January 4th from 6 to 9 pm. The self-guided walking tour begins at the St. Louis Brewery Tour Center and winds through the brewery.

Guests 21 and older can sample complimentary beers along the tour route. Cozy up around the fire pit and roast s’mores ($2.50/kit) and pose for a souvenir to take home with you with a commemorative sampling glass for $10.

Drive through tours are also available Monday and Wednesday evenings from dusk until midnight November 24th through December 31st and on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. The walking tours, however, will not be available these days.
