Mapping St. Louis History

Take a walk through St. Louis history and view historic maps, rare books, and images commemorating the city’s 250th birthday.

Mercantile Library is located on the 2 lower levels of Thomas Jefferson Library (you will walk in on the 3rd floor). Exhibitions can be viewed during normal Thomas Jefferson Library hours. Enjoy the exhibition by yourself or take a free, docent-led tour Saturdays at 11 or Sundays at 2. Group tours can also be arranged. Washington Avenue comes alive with the sound of music every Friday night for 52 weeks (yes, you read that correctly)!

Each Friday, hear live music at various restaurants, including Tigin, Pi, Robust, Prime 1000, Stanley’s, Flamingo Bowl, Lucas Park Grill, Wash Ave Post, Sen Thai, and many, many more. In addition to the great live music, these restaurants will also be offering drink and dinner specials.

All genres of music will be represented, so there will always be something for everyone!

Victorian Christmas at Tower Grove House
Nov 21 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

See the exquisite Victorian country home of Garden founder Henry Shaw in all its holiday splendor!

There will also be activities for children, including storytelling at 11 on Wednesdays and Saturdays and at 1 on Sundays.

Watershed Cairns Exhibit

This new photography exhibit artfully highlights the St. Louis area’s close connection to rivers and streams. The images of the Watershed Cairns exhibit document important places in our regional watershed through vivid, large-scale photos of sculptural cairns made of glass. By naming and mapping sites of the photos, the exhibit offers visitors the chance to learn of the interconnection of these waters and the areas through which they pass.

Community Tree Lighting

Around the World Wine Dinner – Old World & New World: Country French Cuisine & American Wines

Take a trip around the world the third Friday of each month with a 4-course dinner, created by chefs from Catering St. Louis. Each course is a dish from a particular region and is paired with a luscious wine to complement it perfectly. Dinners will be served at various locations throughout the Garden.

Gardenland Express: Holiday Flower and Train Show

Delighting visitors of all ages, Gardenland Express is an annual exhibit you won’t want to miss! Watch as G-scale trains of many eras travel along 900 feet of track through an enchanting miniature holiday landscape composed of festive decorations and fresh plants and flowers.
