Alton’s Wild Treasure: the Bald Eagle
This winter, brave the cold and experience for yourself one of the area’s greatest treasures, the American bald eagle.
Eagles typically soar into the Alton area the beginning of January and stick around until migrating again in mid to late March.
Learn about eagles, what brings them here, and more and even see a live eagle up close! View our event calendar for dates and more details.
Attend one of these events, or just bundle up and visit an eagle “hot spot” (along the river, at Pere Marquette State Park, etc.) and view for yourself. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity! Bring your camera to snap some pictures and capture this moment forever!
Contact the Alton Visitor’s Center online or at (800) ALTON-IL to request a FREE Eagle Watcher’s Guide.
