A. Leisure plans generally range from $119 to $358 per night. Price varies by plan, room, and date. Special Packages and Corporate plans are also available.

Q. Where are you located?

A. On Millionaire's Row in historic Alton, Illinois. Only 25 minutes from the Gateway Arch and downtown St. Louis or STL Lambert St. Louis International Airport. Please see our Directions page.

Q. Are you inspected?

A. Yes. By the Illinois Bed & Breakfast Association—the Illinois inspecting organization recognized by Inspected Inns.

Q. May I purchase Gift Certificates?

A. Yes. Gift Certificates for a stay at The BEALL MANSION make the perfect gift. Purchase online and when finished instantly print out your Certificate(s) or order by phone using your credit card.

Q. Do you have a minimum stay?

A. Most of the time no. Please call or check online for specific date(s).

Q. Why are your rates lower on this site than other travel and lodging sites?

A. Many of the more than 12,000 travel and lodging sites that feature The BEALL MANSION charge commissions or other fees that are added to the rates they display.

Q. Do the owners live on the premises?

A. Yes, and we love it.

Q. What time is check-in and check out?

A. Check-in is from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM or as otherwise arranged. Check-out is 11:00 AM.

Q. Do you have off street parking for overnight guests?

A. Yes—and it's lighted and it's FREE.

Q. Should I ring the door bell when I arrive?

A. Because we may be on another floor and unable to hear the doorbell—when you arrive please call from your cell phone and we will meet you at the side door under the porte cochere (covering over the drive.) Exterior door and room keys will be provided at check-in.

Q. Is there a curfew?

A. No. Your mother isn't here so you can stay out as late as you like! Enjoy.

Q. What should I wear?

A. Whatever makes you comfortable. Because Alton is a river town with people coming and going from their yachts and boats at the Alton Marina—you may go just about anywhere in shabby casual to dress.

Q. Should I tip?

A. Tipping is not solicited or required. If however on your day of departure you would like to leave your chamber maid a tip for a job well done please feel free to do so. How much is customary? Although CNN Money recommends five dollars per room that is entirely up to you.

Q. When is breakfast served?

A. Self Serve Continental Breakfast is available from 6:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. each morning. Gourmet Breakfast in Bed (or the formal dining room) can be arranged to be served between 8:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.. Your breakfast time will be arranged at check in.

Q. Can you accommodate a restricted diet?

A. Yes, we will do our best to accommodate any special dietary needs including vegetarian, Atkins, South Beach, wheat and gluten free, low cholesterol, low sodium, and low fat. Please visit Breakfast is Served.

Q. How many can The BEALL MANSION accommodate for a wedding?

A. From two to one hundred. Indoor and outdoor facilities are available.

Q. When do you offer Museum Tours?

A. Museum Tours are by appointment. Please call to schedule.
