The 116th season of the Alton Muny Band opens with selections from the Band's favorite fanfares outstanding overtures, and most melodious marches

Our Vocalist this evening is Susan Patron-Standard. Susan is the Music Coordinator, Director of Choral Ensembles and Director of Vocal Studies at Lewis & Clark Community College

June 8 & 11, 2006
Three Centuries of Music

Tonight's concert will feature music with other items being featured as solo instruments. Such as typewriters, cannons, fire alarms, etc.

Our vocalist tonight is Mim Luetje. Mim is a native Missourian, transplanted to Austin, Texas in 1988, where she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's in Nursing. She sang with the UT Chamber Singers and continues to sing with the renowned Conspirare, a professional choir in Austin. Her singing has allowed her to travel in the United States to Brazil and to Europe where she toured with Austin Singers as a soloist. mim is thrilled to be singing in Alton for the first time, under the direction of her father, Linton Luetje.

Children's Concert

Balloons for everyone and an all around good time are in store.

Robyn Theison returns to sing with the band. Robyn is a student at Lewis & Clark Community College, a member of Alton Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in several Alton Little Theatre shows.

June 22 & 25, 2006
Area Composers

This concert will feature the music of some of our area composers.

Nathan Ricketier will perform a trumpet solo he composed.

Chu Chu Hu will perform George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.

We would like to dedicate this concert in memory of Jean Monico, a pianist, composer, and piano teacher.

Hurray for the Red White & Blue

This concert is dedicated to the men and women who have served and are currently serving with our Armed Forces. We thank you for keeping our country safe.

Martha Brockus is our vocalist tonight. Martha has performed as a member of the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and is cantor at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Alton.

All That Jazz

The first half of this concert will be some of our conductor's favorite music. I'm sure some of it is your favorite too.

Joining us tonight for the second half is You Can't Beat Experience Jazz Band.

Christmas in July

Yes, that's right. We're bringing back our Christmas Concert. This concert will feature all our favorite Christmas Songs.

Max Welch returns to sing with the band tonight. In addition to singing with the band, Max also sings with the Great Rivers Choral Society.

James Bond watch out for Superman! We will feature music from your favorite spy thrillers and superhero shows.

Our vocalist this evening is Gail Drillinger. Gail is the Music Department Secretary at Lewis & Clark Community College, a member of our flute section, a private instructor, and an actress in musical productions throughout the area.

Well it's that time again for us to say goodbye till next year. The band will play some of our favorite songs.

Our vocalist tonight is Steve Richnak. Steve has sung with the band in previous years. He is also active with Alton Little Theatre.
